What Lions Clubs are About

Lions Serve!
Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization, with a network of 1.35 million men and women in more than 206 countries and geographical locations. We serve where we live, as well as globally, and we have fun doing it.
Though well known for its successful initiatives in vision health, Lions service is as diverse as its members. We meet all sorts of needs, from assisting folks of all ages as well as community projects in and around our service area to helping victims of natural disasters throughout the world.
Community service is for everyone! Young people, families, men & women. As a Lion, you’ll help your community and gain valuable skills; network with others, energize your life, make an impact, and have fun! Get in step with your community by becoming a Lion!
Detailed information about projects we work on throughout the year can be found on the "Club Projects" page under the "More" drop-down menu.
Our club is currently looking for new members. If you are interested in learning more about the club or have event questions, please click HERE to send an email to us or click HERE to go to the "CONTACT US" form. Someone will get back to you soon.

What do Lions Do?
Lions meet the needs of our communities and the world, ranging from assisting the visually and hearing impaired, working to meet local community needs, to national and worldwide needs such as disaster relief. Are there women lions? Yes. Women are the single fastest growing segment of Lions. The Cuyuna Range Lions Club was one of the first clubs in the area to invite women to become members. Approximately 50% of our members are women. I would like to volunteer in my community. Why should I do so as a Lion? Lions meet the needs of those in their own communities as well as around the world and we have fun doing it. Working together locally and internationally, the worldwide network of Lions has vastly more resources and is able to accomplish much more than individuals and small groups working alone. Come join us at our next meeting… The Cuyuna Range Lions Club meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at the Deerstand Restaurant in Deerwood, MN during the winter months, with a social hour at 6:00 p.m. The meeting begins with dinner at 6:30 and concludes with the business meeting. Location, date, and time for meetings during the summer vary based on summer club activities. Kindly refer to the "Social Activities" page for additional details. |
Objectives:
Objectives of the Cuyuna Range Lions Club are: TO CREATE and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world. TO PROMOTE the principles of good government and good citizenship. TO TAKE an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community. TO UNITE Lions clubs in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding. TO PROVIDE a forum for open discussion of all matters of public interest; provided, however, that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by club members. TO ENCOURAGE service-minded people to serve their community without personal financial reward, and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavors. |
